Fluorocarbon Polymers
Epidemiology
Exposure
- Water-Proofing Leather and Fabric Sprays: these represent most of the reported cases (and are seen in consumers with home use of these agents)
- Construction
- Grout Sealing
- Floor Stain Protection
- Rust-Proofing Spray
- Ski Waxing
Physiology
- Inhalational Exposure to Aerosolized Fluorocarbon Polymers
- Does not need to be in an enclosed space
- Exposures vary in terms of ventilation in area of exposure
Clinical
- Pneumonitis (see Pneumonia, [[Pneumonia]])
- Clinical: onset within several hours after exposure to spray polymer
