Physiology

• Benign lung post-inflammatory pseudotumor

Pathology

• Histiocytes with eosinophilic or foamy cytoplasm/ fibroblasts/ fibrous tissue/ scant plasma cells
• Must distnguish from Fibroma

Diagnosis

• FOB: may occur endobronchially
• CXR/Chest CT Pattern: solitary nodule (usually 2-5 cm, but may be large)
  • May grow slowly but usually stable over time
  • Location: no lobar predilection
  • Calcification: rare
  • Cavitation: none
