Fibrous Histiocytoma or Xanthoma
Epidemiology
Physiology
- Benign lung post-inflammatory pseudotumor
Pathology
- Histiocytes with eosinophilic or foamy cytoplasm/ fibroblasts/ fibrous tissue/ scant plasma cells
- Must distnguish from Fibroma
Diagnosis
- FOB: may occur endobronchially
- CXR/Chest CT Pattern: solitary nodule (usually 2-5 cm, but may be large)
- May grow slowly but usually stable over time
- Location: no lobar predilection
- Calcification: rare
- Cavitation: none
