Pathology
- Histologically considered to be chondromatous hamartomas
- One case has shown metastases from leiomyosarcoma present with chondromas
Clinical Presentations
- Carney’s Triad: gastric epithelioid leiomyosarcoma + pulmonary chondromas + extra-adrenal paraganglionomas
- Some cases have only 2 out of 3 features
- Occurs mainly in females <30 y/o (<10% of cases are males)
- Lung Nodule (see Lung Nodule or Mass, [[Lung Nodule or Mass]])
- Diagnosis
- CXR/Chest CT
- Sharply circumscribed, single or multiple nodules
- May be calcified or ossified
- May exhibit slow growth
- FNA: may be diagnostic
- Endobronchial Obstruction (see Obstructive Lung Disease, [[Obstructive Lung Disease]])
