Indications

Contraindications

• Hepatic Encephalopathy (see Hepatic Encephalopathy, Hepatic Encephalopathy): TIPSS may worsen hepatic encephalopathy
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) (see Congestive Heart Failure, Congestive Heart Failure): TIPSS increases right-sided heart return and may precipitate CHF
