Epidemiology
Physiology
- Heterozygous: no abnormal bleeding (even after surgery)
- Homozygous: delayed bleeding after surgery or trauma
- Suggests that initial hemostatic response is normal, but that clots were lysed prematurely due to excessive fibrinolysis
