Adverse Effects

• Acute Hypoventilation (see Acute Hypoventilation)
  • Clinical: due to to rapid absorption, death can occur within 30 min after oral ingestion
  • Treatment: naloxone

  • Epidemiology: has been reported
  • Treatment: supportive
• Talc/Foreign Body Granulomatosis (see Foreign Body Granulomatosis)
  • Epidemiology: when propoxyphene is injected IV
